How good was the National Title at Murray Bridge! Congrats to A1 Dave Fanning in the superb Henchcraft/Suzuki driven perfectly. The best V6 was s8 Nick Hall who qualified 2nd from heat racing only to have devastating luck which saw a tyre deflate on the roll around for the A Main that excluded him from racing. Well done to s17 Sam Putland finishing third and Melissa Crouch fourth to put 2 V6's on the podium. We are not quite as fast as the fuel injected bike motors, but there is not much in it... All title race results are on the national web site.

After a review of the rules and points, the final result of the 3 night Easter weekend is as follows.. s6 Jordan Barrow wins the points score on 745, s69 Luke Lindsay second on 710 points with s28 Jason Wilson third on 700 points. Points had been attributed to drivers who DNF'd which is correct in feature races, but not heat races. Actual race results did not change. Melissa Crouch s74 won the first nights feature and points but was unable to contest the following 2 nights. Mark Sheen v72 came up from Melbourne to race the second night and walked away with the feature and points win. Jason Wilson s28 won the final nights feature but not the points which was shared equally between Jordan Barrow s6 and Luke Lindsay s69. Feature results and points list here

A double feature race event at Speedway City instead of a series round. Mark Brown won the first feature from the pole in a very neat drive and Jordan Barrow won the second feature from pole, also with a very tidy drive. Melissa Crouch was the standout after finishing second in both features, once from near the front and once from near the back. Nick Hall and Mark Brown both ran out of fuel in the second feature due to us having to 'track pack' and buzz the track prior to racing for about 15 laps! Kate Wiese suffered a rare DNF after an incident in turn 1 that saw her back into the wall. She could have re-started with a bent rear nerf but the officials would not let her.

Waikerie Speedway hosted round 5 of the series with a low car count but again the racing was excellent. Heat 1 went to Kate Wiese followed by Jordan Barrow and Chris Quinton. Heat 2 was Chris James' until the last corner of the last lap when a half spin let Jordan Barrow in for the win followed by Chris James and Kate. The feature went to Kate followed by Jordan Barrow and Chris Quinton. Jason Wilson driving the 28 car put in a solid night except for a couple of small mistakes in the feature race. The racing at Murray Bridge in support of the first night of the 360 Sprintcar title had relatively low car numbers but high quality racing. Melissa Crouch won the feature after Nick Hall took a gentle tumble when he hooked a rut and turned right, tipping the car over on the left side. Heat races went to Melissa followed by Nick and Mark Brown with the second won by Nick followed by Melissa and Mark again. Feature results were Melissa followed by Mark Johnson and Mark Brown.
A good nights racing at Renmark for the series rnd 4 despite low car numbers. One wonders why people own race cars when they can't turn up to events! Over 30 cars in SA, 23 of them registered this season, only 7 can get to Renmark!
Anyway, heat 1 was won by Melissa Crouch #74 after starting from 4th followed by Chad Allman #4 and Chris James #24. Heat 2 was won by Kate Wiese #9 from Melissa and Chris Quinton #5. The feature was won by Melissa followed by Kate then Chris James. Come on boys, lift your game :-) All series points HERE At this stage, it looks like the rained out Jan 7 event for Speedway City will be run on March 17th, making March a pretty full on month starting with the double header on March 10th and 11th. See above.

The Des James Memorial at Murray Bridge had it's ups and downs. Ups for Nick Hall who won the event for the second consecutive year and downs for Chris James (son of Des) who suffered a nasty rollover in the feature race. Heat 1 went to Melissa Crouch s74 followed by Nick Hall s8 and Sam Chapman s3. Heat 2 went to Nick Hall followed by Sam Chapman and Jordan Barrow s6. The main event saw Nick off pole, Sam off 2, Melissa off 3, Jordan off 4 and Mark Brown off 5. Mark in his #25 had a stellar return to racing after a 3 year layoff running from rear of the 2 heat races to qualify in 5th. The feature result was Nick Hall, Sam Chapman, Melissa Crouch, Mark Johnson s88 coming up from 6th at the start and Mark Brown retaining his 5th place starting position. Sam Chapman was very pleased with his efforts after missing a few race meetings and Michael Buxallen driving Lee's #28 had a solid night starting and finishing the feature in 7th.

A very good nights racing by the Lightning sprints in support of the Tim Crouch Memorial for Speedcars. Nick Hall #8 won all 3 races while minor placings were shared by Luke Lindsay #28 and Kate Wiese #9 in the first heat, John McKenzie #16 and Chad Allman #4 in the second heat then Kate Wiese #9 and Melissa Crouch #74 in the 15 lap flag to flag feature.

The SA Title has been run and won. Dave Fanning, the current Australia #1 all the way from Queensland stamped his authority on the meeting by winning every race he was in, just like the Aussie title. That car/driver combination is fast! The track was brilliant all night and suited the Suzuki powered Henchcraft. A tangle in the first corner of the first heat saw Chris James 24 and Darryl Knuckey 28 parked on the infield with damage - not the way to start a title fight! Chris made it out for the second heat while repairs were still underway on the 28 car which did get out for the third heat. Jack McCarthy blew a motor in the 23 car as did Jason Wilson. Final results above.

The second round of the series was an excellent race meeting with not a single crash. All races went flag to flag - well done all! Sam Chapman did a motor in the first heat and was out for the night. Rookie to the class Jack McCarthy showed plenty of speed in Troy Lanes s23 when they weren't having power steering hose problems. The feature was won by Nick Hall, 2nd was Melissa Crouch followed by Kate Wiese. All results and points on the Series Page.

The first round of the series at Mt Gambier on a racy and somewhat rough track was not all smooth sailing! A small car count managed to put on a good show after the first heat when the 9 car of Kate Wiese came to a stop and a couple went in the back causing the 6 of Jordan Barrow to fall over! Jordan has been christened! The second heat race was outstanding with all but 1 car back in, 2 great dices were going on. the 74 of Melissa Crouch was having a great dice with the 9 of Kate Wiese at the front while behind them, Nick Hall in SA1 was having a stoush with Chris James in 24. The feature race was won by Nick, followed by Melissa and Chris James. See the SERIES PAGE for all results and points.
